Why we have a dog and not a cat.

Special Patrol isn’t that special. This describes every single dog I have ever owned.

Dirty Dog

Lake Olmstead

Augusta, Georgia

September 2012

The fluffy man child will run and hide from clean bath or pool water - but stinky pond water? His fav.

That’s my dog.

Have you seen this dog?

-Responds to the name Special Patrol.

-Last seen chilling on my huge ass back deck seriously not giving a shit.

-Plays by his own rules and apologizes to no man.

-Will straight flip out if offered food, especially any cooked meat (but is also partial to ice cubes).

-Has a gorgeous auburn mane, akin to the majestic Serengeti lion.

-Singlehandedly took ownership of the local Pendleton King Park by exiting the dog enclosure without a leash and stared the park docent back into his truck then pissed on his tire.

-Not lost or anything, I just wanted to show you how completely badass he is.

One of the few luxuries of being a nascent scientist is the ability to take one hour lunches at 3 o’clock. This usually involves a trip to the pond at Pendleton King Park then Moe’s and a run at the grass behind the mall. Special Patrol loves it

Old Sheldon Church on the way to St. Helena’s Island

The Old Sheldon Church is an extremely cool burned out church in Yemassee, SC on the way to St. Helena’s Island outside Beaufort. Our buddy Rich was nice enough to take me out to a rental house he had out there. Special Patrol really dug it.

Built: 1745-1755

Burned by the British Army: 1779

Rebuilt: 1826

Burned by Sherman (ostensibly because he hadn’t got enough burnin’ in after razing Atlanta): 1865

Maintained since 1937 by the South Carolina Society of the Colonial Dames of America
